Eastern Shore Asthma Walk print   

WHAT:  Put on your walking shoes and join the FUN!  The “Blow the Whistle on Asthma” Walk is a non-competitive 5K WALK for all ages. The event offers enjoyment and fellowship for all - family members and employees from the corporate community will benefit from great team spirit and receive the satisfaction of supporting a good cause.

 

Refreshments and snacks will be available.

 

WHEN:  Saturday, October 18, 2008 10:00 a.m. (Registration begins at 9:00 AM)

WHERE:  Salisbury City Park/Zoo ~ North Park Drive Pavilion ~ Salisbury, MD

 

WHY:  Childhood asthma rates have doubled in the past two decades.  This potentially fatal disease affects 150,000 children in Maryland, plus nearly 500,000 adults in Maryland.  Asthma is the leading cause of school absenteeism due to a chronic illness.  Help Blow the Whistle on Asthma by joining the American Lung Association in this exciting event!    

 

Event proceeds, raised through sponsorships and pledges, will support the American Lung Association of Maryland’s mission, to prevent lung disease and promote lung health.

         

COST:  Registration is FREE!  Walkers who raise a minimum of $100 will receive an Asthma Walk T-Shirt.  Great incentives are available for additional fundraising.  Corporate sponsorship packages of $100 - $5,000 are available.
