Research Opportunities

The American Lung Association of Maryland Research Program funds national and local research awards as well as the Asthma Clinical Research Center network (ACRC), a nationwide asthma research initiative founded by the American Lung Association.

Thank you for your interest in the Lung Association's Research Program.  The application deadline for national and local awards for FY09 was September 4, 2007.  Notification of funding will be available in spring 2008.

Asthma Clinical Research Centers

The need for more information about how to treat and manage asthma is greater than ever. In response to this need and as part of its ongoing commitment to research, the American Lung Association created the Asthma Clinical Research Center network (ACRC). This network is an American Lung Association-sponsored research program seeking to develop large clinical trials that will provide useful information important to the direct care of people who have asthma. Local Lung Associations have joined together under the coordination of the national office to support this nationwide research initiative. To learn more about the ACRC network, click here.
